ANNA MARIA ISLAND

Unfortunately, the May outing of the Harbour Hatties was missed by many members due to previous commitments and/or due to a number of our snowbird members returning north away from the Florida heat.

Twelve Harbour Hatties met at the Recreational Center and ventured forth for a trip to Anna Maria Island for lunch.  We met at the Waterfront Restaurant, which faces the Gulf and Tampa Bay and had a wonderful time chatting and taking in the lovely vista of the Sunshine Bridge.  A balmy breeze, good friends, delicious food – what else can you expect in Paradise.  After lunch, the group separated.

Some of us went to check out Irene’s Resort Wear.  This Anna Maria boutique will be our fashion coordinator for our Sixth Annual Fashion Show – Tropical Dreams – to be held on November 6, 2010 at the Stoneybrook Clubhouse. Of course, we had to check out other shops in the area and do a bit of shopping.

Another group went to the Robinson Preserve where they toured the restored Valentine House, which had been moved from Palmetto.  All agreed that it was quite interesting and we are seriously considering returning as a coed group for a wagon ride through the Preserve’s many trails.

The Harbour Hatties are known, besides their charitable work, to be adventuresome in finding new and varied places to visit and dine and, subsequently, sharing these places with their spouses and the community of Heritage Harbour.
