If you are in need of a painter and want a friendly, reliable, trustworthy person to do the job, I recommend Laurin of “A Woman’s Touch Painting”. We had Laurin paint a few interior rooms as well as the exterior of our home here in Stoneybrook.  We were very pleased with the quality of the work and the price.

Lawn Care

If you are in need of a reliable and trustworthy lawn service, CW Lawn Care Service is outstanding!  Chad Wiebke has been taking care of our yard along with several neighbors for almost four years.  Chad and his assistant mow, trim, and edge every week, plus trim the shrubs and trees as needed.  He is also very knowledgeable when it comes to irrigation problems and keeps the system in great repair because he takes pride in "his" yards.  Chad will also replace shrubs and mulch as an extra service.  If you want someone who cares about your yard and takes pride in his work, Chad Wiebke is your man!  (941)822-3414

Play Away offers child play

I have another service provider I would like to see added to the "Vendors and Service Providers" list on the website.  It is for a place called Play Away and it is a fitness and activity center for children.

Our 2 year old daughter has been attending Play Away every week for the past 5 months and it is one of the highlights of her week.  She loves the singing, dancing, swinging and other activities.  Her social skills, listening, and ability to follow instructions have improved as she attends more classes.

Shortly after moving into Stoneybrook of Heritage Harbour, I shopped around for a lawn care service company.  Quality Home Solutions, owned by local resident Tito Orozco, had the best monthly rate and included the most services.  After speaking with Tito and being happy with his knowledge and neighborly demeanor, I called and talked to 3 other residents that use his lawn service. They all praised Tito and were very happy with the lawn service being provided.  We are very satisfied with our choice to use Tito and Quality Home Solutions for our lawn care service. Tennis Lessons

Tennis Lessons are now available at the Stoneybrook Tennis Courts.  Stoneybrook resident, Rich Macey is now offering lessons to all ages and abilities.  This includes adult and kid groups, cardio, Little Tennis and individual lessons.

Country View Auto Center

River Strand residents, Merry & Russell Sinacore, have been in the auto business for 37 years.  They sell used vehicles that are hand picked because of the mileage and condition.  They do not have a retail dealer lot but have a work lot in Bradenton.  Therefore they have low overhead and aren’t selling someone else’s problem auto.  If they do not have what you want, they can get it for you.  They accept trades and as local Heritage Harbour residents have assured me that they will take good care of community members.  They can be reached at (941) 779-8744.

Examples of what they have are a Volkswagen Passat with 88,000 miles in mint condition and a 2003 Suzuki Aerio with only 43,000 miles in show room condition.

Plumber

In December I reported that Moen replaced a part of my faucet for free.  Months passed before I tried installing the part.  I was not successful so my wife called Steve Gill, a semi retired plumber that lives in Heritage Harbour.  Steve inspected the faucet and determined that more of the faucet needed to be replaced than originally expected.  My wife called Moen and they shipped the additional parts that arrived 4 days later free of charge.  Steve came back out and installed the new parts successfully.  Steve’s charges were quite reasonable and his work was good.

He only accepts small jobs such as the repair or replacement of faucets, toilets, shower trim, garbage disposals and dishwashers.  Steve can be reached at (941) 747-6064.

Need your bike repaired? I needed to have my flat tire replaced and brought my bike to Don. He said he’d fix it in 15 minutes for me (for $6) but I was in a hurry and told him I’d come back the next day. Oh, and by the way could he maybe tighten my kickstand, straighten the handle-bars (which have been crooked for 20 years, I think) and maybe tighten the bolt on my fender? He said sure.

I returned the next day and he’d done all of what I’d asked as well as re-routed a cable that someone had misrouted, cleaned it and even touched up the paint! Talk about service—that’s what I call service! The bill was more than $6 but less than $15 so I gave him a tip and now I’m giving you a tip. Go to Don if you need your bike repaired.
