Restaurants in the Heritage Harbour Area

Do you have favorite restaurants that you would like to recommend to Heritage Harbour residents? Who serves the best Sunday brunch? Where’s the best Happy Hour? What is your favorite restaurant for breakfast? This section will provide opportunities to write restaurant reviews, rate local restaurants, and help your neighbors to have a wonderful dining experience. We can include your recommendations on the Stoneybrook Clubhouse and the River Strand Clubhouse.

This page also could provide opportunities for Heritage Harbour residents with an interest in specific types of restaurants to form groups and schedule visits to local restaurants.

For delicious food and a friendly family atmosphere, try the Pepper Mill Eatery on SR 70.   It is located on the south side of SR 70, west of I-75, in the Oaks Plaza (12 Oaks Plaza, 7246 55 th Ave. East).   We enjoyed dinner specials of twin beef filets with Oscar topping and grilled pork chops for very reasonable prices.   Also available are a variety of seafood and chicken dishes, as well as sandwiches, salads, and burgers.   At breakfast we created our own omelets, and they were stuffed full of our chosen ingredients.   Since we are not early risers, we were delighted to learn that breakfast items are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Pepper Mill's goal is "to give every customer top quality food with good, friendly service for reasonable prices while remaining Zero Trans Fat conscious".   The restaurant is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.   For more information, call 941-758-5670 or go to http://www.mybitesite.com/sarasota/info/Bradenton/The-Pepper-Mill/id/1328/default.aspx.

If you are on Cortez Road around lunchtime, here is a suggestion:

Cafe au Lait
3985 Cortez Road
Phone: 727-9596
www.cafeaulaitcoffee.com

The restaurant is on the southern side of Cortez Rd behind a Liberty Bank in a strip mall.

It is a modest restaurant with only 24 chairs.  By noon time, all seats are occupied.  I recommend to go there before 11:45 a.m. or after 1:00 p.m.

Prices for lunch are $7.95 or 8.95 (including salad).  No dinner.
