Guidelines for Story Submission

Content

All residents of Heritage Harbour are invited to submit announcements, reviews, stories and musings Residents should feel free to share their news and/or creative thoughts about items that would be of interest to the readers. In addition to individual articles, the web home page will contain information from groups within our community of 900 homes such as the Harbour Hatties, Helping Hands and Neighborhood Watch, Heritage Harbour Master Association, Heritage Harbour South CDD and Stoneybrook Association.

Please understand that the webmaster and editors reserve the right to decide what information gets posted online. This is a community website and political or commercial agendas may not be included Negative or adverse comments about an individual or organization are unacceptable. Articles should be fair and accurate.  For example, a food review should be objective and provide specific details about the restaurant which would include the décor, service and food.

Technical Submission

Use this document as an example of how to prepare your submission. The article should be prepared and saved as a standard Microsoft Word document. (Microsoft Word .doc)

The document should be single spaced in Arial Narrow Font size 12 that is left justified with default margins in Microsoft Word.

The text color should be black. However, special accommodations may be made as needed.  Bold text may be used, but underlining and tabs are not accepted by the webpage software.

If a web address is used, please include the complete URL as below:
www.heritageharbourcommunity.com

When the article is transferred to the web page the main headlines will convert to a font size of 24 and the small headlines will convert to font size of 18. In addition, the headlines will change to a green color.  The writer does not need to be concerned about these matters.

Generally, like a newspaper article, a document will be subdivided into two sections. Please indicate the recommended subdivision of your document.
